About Naveed 

Naveed is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who trained at the University of Chester.

His approach to counselling is primarily Person-Centered of which he provides a non-judgemental, accepting and an authentic practice. This helps to provide an appropriate environment for his clients to explore issues they would like to and enable them get to a point where they are feeling more contented with life. This practice enables clients to gain a perspective and understanding of their situation and emotional state, empowering and aiding them to find resolution for their issues.

Naveed is also qualified in Solution Focused Therapy and is able to incorporate it into his practice of which clients look to identify what they would like to achieve through therapy rather than looking into the issues that led them to consider counselling. He continues to professionally develop and has had some training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that identifies the links between thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and actions.

Along with his private practice Naveed has extensive experience working within the NHS of which he has worked at both the Cheshire & Wirral Partnership and the Tee, Esk & Wear Valley Foundation Trusts, working with clients presenting various issues such as low self-esteem, self-harm, depression, anxiety, abuse, anger management and bereavement.

​Prior to his current work in the NHS he worked at Stepping Stones, a registered charity providing therapeutic services to adults who have been sexually abused as children across the region of North Wales. 

He also has experience in working with children in a secondary boys school who have experienced social, emotional and mental health difficulties including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism, and is currently working for Barnardos, counselling children aged between 5-17.

He is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists ( and adheres to their code of ethics by having regular supervision to maintain quality assurance.
